Pay Range: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 DOE
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties
● Submit accurate ABA claims to payers
● Review and reconcile claims and post payments
● Identify, track, and resolve denials
● Monitor aging reports and maintain AR within target benchmarks
● Communicate with insurance reps to resolve issues
● Obtain prior authorizations for ABA services
● Submit monthly client invoices and process client payments
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy
● Excellent communication – Soft Skills & Work Style
● Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
● Proactive problem-solver with strong ownership of tasks
● Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; organized with strong follow-through
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
● Experience in ABA billing is mandatory
○ Must have direct experience billing for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, including CPT codes (97151, 97153, 97155, 97156, 97157, 97158, H0032)
● At least 3 years of medical billing experience in billing AND managing claim denials/appeals
● Experience Managing client/patient balances
○ Must be able to track client responsibility (copays, coinsurance, deductibles)
○ Must have experience sending invoices, posting payments, following up on outstanding balances
Technical Skills
● Strong proficiency with ABA practice management and billing platforms (e.g., CentralReach, Availity, Waystar).
● Knowledge of insurance billing requirements for major payers
● Deep understanding of:
○ Correct coding for ABA
○ Authorizations and utilization management
○ EOB/ERA interpretation
○ Timely filing rules
○ Coordination of benefits
○ COB adjustments and secondary claims
