The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Dominique Dawes Gymnastics & Ninja Academy (DDGNA) is responsible for supporting the General Manager (GM) in the overall management and daily operations of the gym. This full-time, onsite role helps to ensure the successful execution of all recreational, competitive, and special programs, such as camps, open gyms, and birthday parties. The AGM will assist in coordinating class schedules, managing staff, maintaining facility standards, and contributing to sales and business development efforts.

The AGM plays an integral part in maintaining the fun, safe, and positive environment at DDGNA while also supporting the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs), including customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and retention. In this way, the AGM will assist in identifying opportunities to improve program offerings, customer experience, and operational efficiency, and will contribute to new initiatives that can help grow the business and enhance the participant experience. This position works closely with the GM and leadership team to ensure that operations are running smoothly and effectively.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational and communication skills who is passionate about delivering excellent service to participants and families. Reporting directly to the GM, the AGM will have a mix of operational, administrative, and customer-facing responsibilities. In addition, this position requires experience in the world of gymnastics, either as a participant, as a coach, or both.

Full-Time
The Assistant General Manager is an onsite, full-time, salary and bonus, year-round position supporting the smooth operation and growth of DDGNA’s programs. The AGM works closely with the General Manager to ensure the success of all recreational, competitive, and special events, while helping drive positive participant and family experiences.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational Support:
    Assist the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the gym, including class schedules, facility maintenance, and event planning. Ensure that programming is aligned with DDGNA’s goals and meets community needs.
  • Team Management:
    Help manage the scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing development of staff and coaches. Assist with training and performance evaluations, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality instruction and customer service.
  • Customer Experience:
    Foster a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for participants and their families. Help address inquiries from parents, resolve customer concerns, and maintain open communication about program updates and participant progress.
  • Sales and Business Development:
    Support the General Manager in executing outreach efforts, contacting leads, and scheduling tours. Help in closing sales, signing families up for classes or events, and achieving monthly revenue and sales goals. Track key metrics such as new enrollments, customer retention, and satisfaction.
  • Facility and Safety Management:
    Monitor the cleanliness and safety of the gym, ensuring equipment and facilities are well-maintained. Assist with regular safety audits, incident report follow-ups, and policy enforcement to ensure a safe environment for all participants and staff.
  • Program and Event Coordination:
    Collaborate with the GM and other leadership to assist with planning and managing camps, special events, birthday parties, and open gyms. Help ensure that all events run smoothly and meet participant expectations.
  • Lesson Plans and Floor Scheduling:
    Work with the GM to roll out timely lesson plans, coordinate program change-overs, and organize related floor scheduling and rotations. Ensure that classes and programs are running on time and according to the established schedule.
  • Administrative Support:
    Help manage class enrollments, track participant data, and generate reports. Assist the GM with budget tracking, inventory management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaboration with Leadership:
    Work closely with the GM and other senior leaders to align on goals and support the overall success of DDGNA’s programs and operations. Attend regular team meetings and contribute to problem-solving and strategic planning discussions.

Qualifications

  • This position may require standing, lifting, and adjusting gymnastics and ninja equipment. The AGM may also be required to actively participate in gym activities with children, monitor coaches, and help with facility upkeep.
