Blue Ridge Equine is well-equipped to deliver excellent service with multiple digital radiography and ultrasound systems, shockwave machines, nuclear medicine, recumbent MRI, biological therapies (PRP, IRAP, Pro-Stride, stem cell therapy), 1-meter and 3-meter video endoscopy, diode laser, laparoscopy, and on-site lab services. We have a 15-stall main barn and 4-stall isolation barn. We utilize HVMS practice management software to help us communicate and schedule as efficiently as possible.

The staff at Blue Ridge Equine Clinic is excellent. We have cultivated a culture of support and cooperation that leads to a great team effort to provide the best care for our patients and each other. The team consists of 3 Licensed technicians, 2 interns, 2 veterinary assistants, 5 office support staff members. In addition to the current surgeon there are four ambulatory veterinarians in the home office and another 3 veterinarians at our satellite clinic that also refer cases into the clinic.

Someone with an interest in all aspects of equine sports medicine and is looking for an opportunity to develop an established clientele in a competitive equine market. We are seeking an ambitious, professional, and dedicated candidate with exceptional time management and communication skills. Candidate is required to be board-certified or eligible to sit for the ACVS certifying examination.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Daytime responsibilities will primarily be devoted to sports medicine and lameness both in ambulatory and hospital settings. There is the opportunity to work with advanced imaging (nuclear medicine and MRI) to facilitate lameness diagnoses and treatments. The candidate will also be encouraged to grow and participate in the elective surgical caseload as well as sharing on-call responsibilities with the current surgeon. These include all surgical and medical emergencies referred into the hospital.

Qualifications

Candidate is required to be board-certified or eligible to sit for the ACVS certifying examination.
