The Compliance Coordinator will partner with various departments and programs throughout the company to ensure quality services are provided and to assist in, the development and implementation of long-term compliance solutions. This individual will be involved in the development, implementation, and monitoring of audit tools, reports, and performance improvement initiatives to help EOSIS to achieve and maintain contractual compliance with all state and federal licensing agencies, as well as, accreditation bodies. The Compliance Coordinator reports to the Director of Quality, Compliance, and Accreditation.

Pay: $75,000 – $85,600 Annually
Shift: Full-Time, 1st shift

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Monitors and reviews company activities to assess level of compliance with existing and proposed federal, state, or provider requirements. Maintains compliance documents and databases, and coordinates preparation of such documents with other departments as necessary.
  • Continuously reviews the documentation of treatment service to support the billing and ensures compliance with state and federal requirements and internal policies and procedures. Provide notification to staff in writing of missing documentation, errors, and compliance issues that requires completion or correction.
  • Prepares and present reports based on the results of internal compliance reviews and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Participates in external compliance inspections performed by state and federal regulatory personnel and/or accreditation bodies.
  • Participates in the evaluation of and response to external review findings and assists in the preparation and submission of responses to the appropriate state or federal agency. Recommend and implement required changes to internal policies and procedures or compliance monitoring per audit findings.
  • Assists with the development of new policies and procedures, as well as, the annual and periodic review of processes and policy manuals to ensure alignment with the work being done and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, behavioral science, healthcare, mental/chemical health and 2+ years’ experience in compliance and/or quality improvement OR an equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience in the areas of compliance and/or quality improvement.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree Preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to interpret results and present data to a variety of audiences.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to prioritize competing duties.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, along with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong independent reasoning, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in MS Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Possess a valid driver license and vehicle as will travel to various company sites
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and Federal Confidentiality
  • Knowledge of MN Rules and Statutes governing Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CARF and/or JACHO accreditation process
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Experience researching, identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing problems or situations and coordinating appropriate actions or responses.
  • Experience making presentations to groups and individual
