We are seeking to fill several Full Time (and Part Time) Client Service MEDICAL SPECIALIST positions at our Short Pump and Bon Air locations. MUST HAVE a minimum of 2 years of reception experience in the MEDICAL FIELD.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle patient scheduling, appointments, multi-phone line
  • Gather new patient data; keep track of all patient referrals
  • Disseminate information to patients; act as a go-between for patients and physicians  
  • Send and keep a log of all reports sent to doctors
  • Collect all payments; insurance verification
  • Collect/open mail; distribute mail to proper areas/people
  • Send benefits paperwork to billing companies
  • Handle all scheduling and ensuing communication
  • Answer phones, act as a patient liaison, answer any questions from potential or current patients
  • Schedule patients; coordinate evaluations, re-evaluations, appointment reminders and cancellations
  • Collect new patient intake information; track all clinic referrals
  • Fax reports to physicians; keep a log of incoming reports
  • Verify Insurance and track insurance-covered visits; take copayments
  • Check mail; keep track of Explanation of Benefits sent from mail and fax to billing company
  • Communicate with the office manager and clinicians about scheduling/patient arrival

Qualifications

  • Candidates are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a vocational certificate/diploma in business or office administration preferred
  • MUST HAVE a minimum of 2 years of reception experience in the MEDICAL FIELD
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with pleasant disposition who cares about others.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekdays, (some) evenings and weekends (if needed)
  • Ability to quickly learn how to use internal company software systems
  • Proficient typing skills
  • MUST BE comfortable navigating (EMR) digital records systems
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Qualified candidates should be friendly, poised and have a client focused approach
  • Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages
