Local non-profit is looking for a full-time facilities assistant to take care of the building and surrounding campus including 2 playgrounds and parking areas as well as some driving of company van.  This position includes routine oversite of the grounds and building identifying needed repairs/maintenance and identifying solutions to problems.  The successful candidate will have knowledge of and ability to complete simple repairs including changing fluorescent light fixtures, repairing holes in walls, simple plumbing repairs, painting, and contacting vendors to complete more complicated repairs/maintenance.  Some supervision of one additional driver required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform and document routine inspection of building, grounds, and carry out/contract for needed repairs/maintenance
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needed repairs and remain in communication with management
  • Stock and maintain kitchens, therapy rooms, and administrative offices
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedule including forecasted workload
  • Limited driving of company van to transport clients/pick up supplies

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, landscape needs
  • Computer literacy with email capability, MS tools, simple software programs
  • Proven work history of handyman level maintenance
  • Some supervision experience
  • Great eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as strong team member
  • CDL a plus (for bus driver)
