Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD expertise to produce detailed installation diagrams for field personnel. This includes but is not limited to Fire Alarm circuit wiring diagrams.
- Create and edit additional CAD drawings as required for the ongoing installation process such as Floor Plans, Point-to-Points, Tier II, etc.
- Prepare Battery Calculations and Voltage Drop Calculations as required.
- Keep track of incoming projects and outgoing submissions. Ensure that deadlines are met.
- Quickly identify any equipment changes required to make a complete operating system.
- Develop a positive relationship with customers (both internal and external) and ensure that Fire Systems is meeting their requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in fire design and AutoCad.
- Proficient with AutoCAD
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, proposals, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of electronics.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes including NFPA-72, NFPA-101, and the IBC with the ability to interpret code requirements for fire alarm systems.
- Technical understanding of fire alarm systems and their components with the ability to design systems based on a bill of material and floor plans.
- General administrative skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and ADOBE.
- Effective communication skills required – both written and verbal.
