Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize AutoCAD expertise to produce detailed installation diagrams for field personnel. This includes but is not limited to Fire Alarm circuit wiring diagrams.
  • Create and edit additional CAD drawings as required for the ongoing installation process such as Floor Plans, Point-to-Points, Tier II, etc.
  • Prepare Battery Calculations and Voltage Drop Calculations as required.
  • Keep track of incoming projects and outgoing submissions. Ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Quickly identify any equipment changes required to make a complete operating system.
  • Develop a positive relationship with customers (both internal and external) and ensure that Fire Systems is meeting their requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in fire design and AutoCad.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, proposals, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes including NFPA-72, NFPA-101, and the IBC with the ability to interpret code requirements for fire alarm systems.
  • Technical understanding of fire alarm systems and their components with the ability to design systems based on a bill of material and floor plans.
  • General administrative skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and ADOBE.
  • Effective communication skills required – both written and verbal.
