Alarm & Suppression Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Fire Alarm Inspector to perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial fire alarm and life safety systems. In this role, you’ll help ensure customer facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational through thorough inspections performed in accordance with NFPA 72, local regulations, and industry best practices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Conduct inspections and functional testing of commercial fire alarm and life safety systems
- Inspect control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and auxiliary equipment
- Troubleshoot system deficiencies and perform minor repairs as needed
- Accurately document findings, deficiencies, and recommendations in accordance with NFPA standards and local regulations
- Complete detailed inspection reports and maintain compliance records
- Explain inspection results and recommended corrective actions to customers
- Maintain knowledge of NFPA codes, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures
- Partner with service teams to address issues identified during inspections
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in a safe and organized manner
- Deliver professional and courteous customer service
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Electronics, Fire Protection, or a related field preferred
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems Certification (Level I or higher) preferred
- State or local Fire Alarm Inspector License, if required by jurisdiction
- Minimum of 2 years of experience inspecting, maintaining, or installing fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable local fire codes
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience using fire alarm inspection tools and testing equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused with a professional demeanor
- Strong organizational and time management skills
