Job Duties and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Install commercial fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes
- Install, terminate, and configure fire alarm devices, control panels, wiring, and related equipment
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities
- Inspect, adjust, clean, and calibrate equipment to ensure proper operation and code compliance
- Identify and resolve installation-related issues in the field
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, and other trades to ensure successful project completion
- Complete installation documentation and service reports accurately and on time
- Perform all work safely, efficiently, and within established quality and cost standards
- Help ensure systems are installed correctly the first time, reducing service calls and rework
- Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in a safe and organized manner
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed Fire Alarm Technician
- Valid Maryland Fire Alarm License required
- Experience installing, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, or commissioning commercial fire alarm systems
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow directions, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and participate in an on-call rotation
- Ability to report to assigned job sites on time as scheduled
- Ability to maintain and properly store tools, materials, and equipment
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
