Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Vascular Sonography:
- Perform and interpret vascular ultrasound examinations, including Doppler studies, carotid duplex, venous studies, and arterial evaluations.
- Ensure the proper use of ultrasound equipment and maintain high standards of image quality.
- Assess vascular anatomy and pathology, providing accurate measurements and documentation.
- General Sonography:
- Conduct a variety of general ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, and small parts imaging.
- Collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive patient assessments and contribute to the diagnostic process.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Operate ultrasound equipment and maintain its functionality through regular checks and calibrations.
- Stay updated on the latest techniques and technologies in sonography.
- Patient Care:
- Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and address any concerns to ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Certification:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in vascular and general sonography.
- Proficiency in ultrasound imaging techniques and protocols.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
