Job Summary:
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operations to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction, financial performance, and employee engagement. This role requires strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. The General Manager will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s reputation as a premier luxury destination and for driving the overall business strategy

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services.
  • Ensure all departments are functioning efficiently and in accordance with brand standards and company policies.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance guest experience and operational effectiveness.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, focusing on revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.
  • Analyze financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to maximize revenue and manage expenses, including overseeing pricing, promotions, and sales initiatives.

Guest Experience:

  • Maintain the highest standards of guest satisfaction, addressing feedback promptly and effectively.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence and personalized guest care throughout the hotel.
  • Oversee guest relations and VIP services, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for all guests.

Staff Management and Development:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a diverse team of department heads and hotel staff.
  • Develop training programs to enhance staff skills, service delivery, and professional growth.
  • Manage performance reviews, recruitment, and retention strategies to maintain a motivated and high-performing team.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop strategies that drive occupancy, ADR (Average Daily Rate), and market share.
  • Represent the hotel in the community, building relationships with key partners, corporate clients, and luxury travel agencies.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor performance to identify new business opportunities.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall hotel appearance.
  • Implement quality control measures to uphold the brand’s reputation and exceed guest expectations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop long-term business strategies that align with the hotel’s vision and market position.
  • Identify new trends, innovations, and opportunities to enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with owners and stakeholders to align on strategic goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in hotel management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role at a luxury property.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing hotel operations, financial performance, and team development.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a focus on quality and service.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software such as OPERA- CLOUD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite
