Job Duties and Responsibilities

HR Generalist job responsibilities include:

  • Assist in maintaining a comprehensive employee personnel records system
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for all exempt and non-exempt staff, and temporary employees
  • Prepare new hire and termination packets; confirm complete information is collected
  • Conduct new-employee orientation and onboarding
  • Manage weekly payroll, while working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  • Maintain HR information system records; compile reports from the database
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment, and benefits laws and regulations
  • Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
  • Monitor time and attendance; maintain time and attendance reports
  • Administer performance evaluation programs; participate in annual performance discussions
  • Oversee benefits administration, assist with new employee enrollment and annual open enrollment
  • Provide customer service to employees; maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs
  • Administer various HR policies and procedures for all employees at the home office

Qualifications

HR Generalist required skills & qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience working with confidential information
  • Professional demeanor and team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior computer skills: MS Office: Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills; exceptional critical-thinking skills
  • Team player, problem solver, ability to work in a rapid-growth environment

Preferred:

  • Familiar with medical practices
  • SHRM certification (Society for Human Resource Management)
  • Understands the nature of a start-up or previous involvement in a rapidly expanding business
