The Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle/University District is looking for a full time Hotel maintenance tech to join our team. We are managed by Puget Sound Hospitality which owns and operates 5 hotels in the Puget sound area.

The details
Salary range: $25.81-$25.81 per hour
Location: 4501 12th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98105.
Commute/Transportation: We are located just 1 block from the Link Light rail station and offer a discounted annual ORCA pass. If you prefer to drive, we offer free parking to all of our employees in our underground garage.
Benefits: Our benefits package is available to full time employees after they complete 60 days of employment. This package includes medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D. We also have 6 paid holidays.
PTO is accrued at 0.0538 hours per hour starting on day 1 of employment.
We partner with Colonial life to offer supplemental insurance options such as accident, short term disability, and whole life during our annual enrollment.
We have a 401(K) retirement plan available to all employees who are 21+ and have been employed for 6 months.

Work shifts: The hotel is a 24/7 operation so there are many shifts available to work that can align with your personal life.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The daily job duties

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on all hotel equipment and assets as scheduled or requested by guests, housekeeping, and management. (Such duties could consist of HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs, furniture repair/replacement, etc.)
  • Maintain hotel grounds, building exterior, and parking lot.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on hotel guest rooms per schedule.
  • Check pool chemical balance and filters. Clean pool deck.
  • Perform daily walk through, record all meter readings and boiler temperature.
  • Communication.
  • Provide written detail of work performed on work order forms and other documents.
  • Record all maintenance request work performed.
  • Inform front desk and housekeeping of rooms where work is being performed so they can be put out of order as needed. Notify front desk and housekeeping when work is complete.

Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with guests, clients, coworkers, and management.
  • Know hotel emergency procedures and where all emergency shutoffs are located. Assist hotel guests when necessary, in case of an emergency.
  • Perform special projects assigned in allotted time set for each project.
  • Education: No educational requirement.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: No requirements.
  • Language Skills: Able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English. Able to communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, guests, and vendors. Able to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, facility maintenance skills, knowledge of proper chemical handling, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and small appliance repair skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report, or schedule form.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Able to work with little or no supervision. Able to operate equipment such as, but not limited to, pool filter pump, hand tools, power tools, sweeper, pressure washer. Able to solve basic mathematical problems, use a tape measure, and understand liquid and weighted volumes.
