Job Duties and Responsibilities

Medical Assistant (MA) job responsibilities include:

  • Prioritize patient needs; have patients sign consent forms; gather vitals
  • Using electronic records, gather and record patient healthcare information
  • Help patients to examination rooms and ready to see the doctor
  • Carry out various lab testing/analysis to include injections/venipuncture/IVs/UAs
  • Use/assist with various medical machinery use for diagnostic testing
  • Help with exams/procedures/medication administration
  • Answer calls from patients/doctor’s offices/pharmacists; call patients day after appointment

Qualifications

Medical Assistant (MA) required skills & qualifications include: 

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation certified; MA certification or equivalent
  • Completed an Army-based training program and/or Accredited Medical Assistant, EMT, paramedic program graduate 
  • Know federal and state regulations/requirements related to the position
  • Willing/able to float among all clinics in the region
  • Knowledge of EMR and eClinicalWorks a plus
  • Prefer Medical Assistant (MA) and Urgent Care experience
  • Dept. of Transportation (DOT) collector certified a plus
  • Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) certified and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification a plus
