Conservative Care Occupational Health is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist who is experienced in medical billing and coding to join our current team in Springdale, AR. Applicant must have medical billing experience as well as be a team player, able to multi-task, proficient computer skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, willing to cross train, and be a Certified Coder (preferred). This is a full-time hourly position working onsite.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform posting charges
  • Review of claims for billing errors, modifiers, missing services
  • Creating invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to a customer
  • Manage the status of accounts and balances and identify inconsistencies
  • Analyze and respond to received explanation of benefits in a timely manner
  • Compile professional reconsideration letters
  • Keep abreast of changes in CPT, state fee schedules, and AMA guidelines
  • Adherence to laws and best practices regarding dealing with customers and data
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Provides customer support to customers with disputes or inquires concerning invoices or billing processes

Education and Experience

  • Certified Professional Coder (or related certification)
  • Medical Billing: at least two years
  • Workers Compensation: 1 year (preferred)

Qualifications

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
