If you have a passion for helping others and enjoy interacting with the public, consider joining our team as a Client Care Specialist at FYZICAL. We are currently seeking a Medical Scheduler / Medical Receptionist / Front Desk to join our team at our Fort Lee, NJ location.

The Medical Scheduler / Medical Receptionist / Front Desk position involves entering patient data, patient scheduling, and payment collection in an EMR system. Candidate must project a warm, enthusiastic, and friendly demeanor with clients and team members. Candidates should be comfortable explaining health insurance benefits, answering phones, scheduling, and multitasking.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Competent phone skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with others
  • Basic computer skills including email navigation and downloading/uploading files
  • Familiarity with principles of Excel; able to use Word and Instant Messenger
  • Detail oriented; able to complete data entry quickly and precisely
  • Data collection; conducts insurance verification
  • Route incoming office communication to the right place: phone, email, fax, mail.
  • Intake for New Patients. Receive Initial Evaluations and follow-ups to be scheduled via fax, email, external marketing requests, phone, and live.  
  • Schedule full plans of care after Initial Evaluations.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other over-the-counter payments at the time of visit.
  • Tracks referral sources of patients and conversion of referrals into appointments
  • Contact the client’s insurance company for verification of insurance benefits and to understand the requirements needed for coverage of physical therapy visits
  • Performs other miscellaneous administrative tasks as directed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Self-motivating with the ability to proactively and independently handle complex scheduling. Handles task through to completion
  • Comfortable with handling medical reimbursements/billing process
  • Ability to multitask, including assisting patients, and making phone calls to insurance companies to verify insurance benefits for clients
  • Listen, speak, and write to team members and patients clearly and concisely  
  • Ability to maintain a calm and friendly demeanor with clients, insurance companies, and team members
  • Genuinely empathetic and caring towards patients
  • Honest, speak your mind, and own it, even when controversial. You call out actions inconsistent with our values. You make work fun.
