Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Discuss medical history with patients to acquire knowledge of healthcare practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose pain conditions.
  • Create and discuss a pain management treatment plan with patients.
  • Treat patients by employing interventional techniques such as injections and/or other devices.
  • Respond to patient questions and health concerns.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Prescribe medications, if applicable.
  • Refer patients for laboratory and diagnostic tests. Assess medical results.
  • Educate patients on pain management and lifestyle changes.
  • Delegate tasks and communicate frequently with APRNs and other members of care team.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in pain management.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and well-being.
  • Review and retain orderly and well-kept patient records.
  • Communicate pertinent medical records to appropriate specialists as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare and pain management regulations and standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of pain mechanisms and pharmacology.
  • Proficient in interventional pain procedures, joint injections, nerve blocks, and epidural injections.
  • Working knowledge of medical equipment such as C-Arm.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary care team in a clinic setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Patience, compassion, and the ability to empathize with patients in pain.
  • Passionate about pain management and dedicated to providing high-quality and safe patient care.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • A medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state medical license.
  • Board certification in Pain Management.
  • Dual board certification – Pain Management and Anesthesia(preferred)
  • Experience with a wide range of pain management practices.
  • Track record of adhering to healthcare ethical code of conduct.

Physical Requirements:
