Job Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Must adhere to all policies & procedures while performing duties.
- Monitors and assures the facilities’ compliance, applicable standards, regulations and laws; assists in assuring that all State and Federal requirements are met; plans, organizes and directs facility functions and activities to achieve objectives and comply with regulatory requirements. Prepares reports, maintains records, compiles statistics, etc. as required.
- Supervise nursing personnel.
- Delegate daily work assignments as pertains to nursing personnel.
- In conjunction with Program Director and Nurse Manager, assure that nursing services are consistent with overall client care, as well as program policies and procedures.
- Support clinical competencies of nursing staff.
- Provide clinical services as assigned by Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, and/or Treatment director, to include health education groups, 1:1 consultations with clients, and other services.
- As designated provide on-call availability to shift nursing personnel for questions and/or emergencies.
- Communicate with EOSIS Director of Nursing, Medical Director and other medical health professions to integrate services in accordance with facility policies and procedures and client care plans.
- Enforce facility policies. Make recommendations to Nurse Manager and/or Treatment Director regarding Corrective Actions for staff.
- Make frequent rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing their assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
- Review care plans weekly to ensure that appropriate care is being given.
- Follow all controlled drug policies & procedures as required.
- Assist with medication disposal.

Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Must be licensed as a nurse in the jurisdiction of the facility. Minimum licensure of LPN. RN licensure preferred.
- 2 yrs. experience in a managerial or supervisory position and
- Minimum 1 yr. experience in a chemical dependency or healthcare facility that provides chemical dependency services, and
- 2-3 years related experience required, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must know and understand all rules, regulations, and requirements of the assigned program.
- Must know and understand federal, state, and local regulations regarding chemical dependency care for the program in which they are working.
- Attend, participate, and present as appropriate, staff in-service and meetings.
- Must document 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems and chemical abuse of dependency that includes competencies related to philosophy, screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, documentation, programming, medication, collaboration, mental health consultation, discharge planning.
- CPR and first aid certified.
- A minimum of two years of continuous freedom from chemical use problems.

- Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate abstract concepts in a simple format

Physical Requirement
- Hearing: 100% Ability to hear staff, incoming calls, and callers

- Standing: 6-8 hours per day
