Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and administering physical therapy treatment plans designed to restore mobility function, alleviate pain, prevent disabilities, improve physical function and quality of life, and promote overall fitness and wellness for patients at FYZICAL Cedar Crest’s clinic located at 1146 South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Suite 101, Allentown, PA 18103, including:  

  • Ensuring smooth and timely patient flow, including assuring patients are evaluated and treated promptly in accordance with their scheduled appointments.
  • Determining necessary physical therapy based on prescriptions or other referral documents, patient records, patient evaluations, and patient condition(s).
  • Creating and administering appropriate treatment programs (plans of care) based on patient evaluation.
  • Evaluating and recording effects of treatment at various stages and adjusting treatments as necessary to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Reporting patient progress to patient, patient caregivers and loved ones, and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment/care of patient.
  • Instructing patients on proper in-home exercises and therapies.
  • Maintaining timely and accurate clinic documentation, including evaluations, notes, discharge summaries, billing codes and data, and other reports.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
  • Master of Physical Therapy Degree (MPT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT)
  • Current license to practice and Direct Access Certification of Authorization in Pennsylvania (or pending licensure | certification)
  • Prefer 3+ years of clinical experience (including administering a wide range of physical therapy techniques)
  • Current CPR certification and BLS preferred
  • Superb people skills to interact with patients, colleagues and third parties
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an autonomous environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
