Job Duties and Responsibilities

What you will do as Restaurant General Manager

  • Recruiting, hiring and training all restaurant staff, including servers and hosts
  • Scheduling employees to ensure shifts have proper coverage
  • Streamlining the restaurant processes to improve the guest experience
  • Monitoring restaurant finances, including sales and expenses
  • Enforcing food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety
  • Promoting the restaurant and finding ways to bring in more customers
  • Handling customer complaints
  • Completing necessary paperwork, such as sales, inventory and staff attendance reports

Qualifications

What you need to be successful as a Restaurant General Manager

  • Have a fun, positive, and energetic personality.
  • Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, and food safety
  • Previous experience in restaurant industry with relevant profile
  • Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting
  • Ability to lead big groups of people
  • Ability to motivate and positively influence staff as well as confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, and foster teamwork.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills and display proven customer service experience with a strong guest-focused mentality.

Experience:

  • Restaurant management: 3 years (Required)
  • Hospitality: 2 years (Required)
  • Management: 2 years (Required)
