We’re seeking a detail-oriented culinary professional to join our private estate culinary team as a private residence support cook. You’ll prepare and cook high-quality dishes, execute menus for fine dining, casual, and special events, and maintain culinary standards and plating. Responsibilities include grocery shopping, meal prep, assisting with events, and supporting multi-property operations in Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow directions to prep for, execute, and assemble items to be served.

  • Set up station according to the Sparrow Manager’s standards and guidelines.

  • Estimate preparation requirements and procure food from storage.

  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.

  • Ensure the presentation of food and plating reflects the standards set forth by the Sparrow Manager.

  • Execute service in a variety of dining styles including but not limited to a la carte service and fixed menu private event and banquet service.

  • Maintain updated knowledge of all food menus and selections, including unique ingredients.

  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas and ensure the work area is well organized and properly stocked.

  • Efficiently complete opening and closing side work duties per shift according to standard as assigned.

  • Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and Supervisors.

  • Perform all work while adhering to safety policies and standards.

  • Adhere to all company and client policies and procedures.

  • Attend required staff meetings.

  •  Perform grocery shopping, meal prep and be available for misc. events.

  • Assist culinary team at multi-property, Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades and Malibu

  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.

    SCHEDULE:  10am-6pm, daily, Monday-Friday [in general], must be open to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events

  • Multitask, organize and prioritize tasks on an hourly and daily basis.

  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.

    Required Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Two year minimum related experience required as a cook

    Work Environment: Work performed indoors in a temperature-controlled environment, at room temperature

    Physical Requirements:
    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
