Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a In Home Registered Nurse (RN), here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, restroom assistance, changing, and feeding.
- Provide personal care, including PEG tube medication administration and feeding.
- General housekeeping activities and meal preparation.
- Provide transportation assistance to and from activities and appointments.
- Offer compassionate companionship to clients.
- Collaborate with family members to ensure the best care plan is followed, coordinating with hospice services and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
- Able to follow MD treatment plan.
- Supervision of others, including LPNs, CNAs, and aides.
- Provide home-based care to patients with chronic illnesses, injuries, or conditions such as Parkinson’s.
- Assist with PEG tube medication administration and feeding.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs, medication administration, and progress tracking.
- Educate family members on care techniques and home safety.
- Assist with mobility, including max assist out of bed and personal care routines.
- Coordinate with hospice services and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
Qualifications
A few must-haves for Home Health Registered Nurses (RN):
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current license in good standing as an RN in the state of South Carolina.
- Ability to read and interpret technical instructions related to patient care & document patient progress accurately.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist patients with mobility.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist patients with mobility (occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if required to drive)
- Proof of auto liability insurance (if applicable)
- Comfortable working in an in-home setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen.
