Pay: $38.00 – $44.00 Hourly

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or allinclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
- Provide appropriate nursing services and education to clients/patients.
- Observe, record, and reports to the appropriate person any symptoms, reactions and changes in a client’s condition.
- Chart nursing notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting the care provided and the response to that care.
- Assess and monitor patients with substance abuse history.
- Perform initial, routine and emergency medical and mental health assessments.
- Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures
- Perform intake admissions for patients to include vitals, strip searching and nursing assessment.
- Obtain, records and reports vital signs as indicated during the administration of medications and takes appropriate action for abnormal results.
- Receives and transcribes physician order to patient charts.
- Accurately records the administration of medication for patients as prescribed by the physicians in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provides and promotes patients’ rights during the administration of medication.
- Observe, monitor and records symptoms and conditions of the patients with substance abuse that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug interactions or medication side- affects.
- Routinely inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies to ensure patient safety.
- Reports any equipment or supply issues to management for correction or repair.
- Demonstrate awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal Precautions and following policies and procedures of the Company, including OSHA’s Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and PPE standards.
- Utilize EMR medical charting system to record medication information, vital signs, and communicate with clinical staff.
- Participate in report and shift change. Record relevant information in the Nurse’s Pass Down
Log (PDL).
- Complete nursing assessments.
- Obtain patient’s history on admission to facility per COMAR.
- Maintains compliance with applicable State Regulations.
- Routinely reads and responds to e-mails
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate abstract concepts in a simple format.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.
- Flexibility to meet a variety of changing priorities.
- Computer skills to draft emails, memos, and reporting.
- Attention to detail
- Electronic charting skills
Physical Requirement
- Hearing Ability to hear staff, incoming calls, and callers.
- Vision Ability to see computer screen and written charts to document outcomes and obtain data.
- Speaking Ability to speak to staff and external customers.
- Sitting Approximately 5-6 hours per day.
- Standing Approximately 1-2 hours per day.
