The purpose of this position is to greet surgical patients and perform the registration function upon their arrival as well as schedule future proposed surgical cases.  Makes certain all pertinent documentation is available in the surgical patient’s charts.

  1. Greets and registers surgical patients
  2. Prepares medical records
  3. Answers phone calls coming into the surgery center
  4. Electronically schedules future surgical patients
  5. Collects money and processes credit card payments during check in
  6. Uploads Operative Reports and Path reports to the billing company
  7. Covers duties assigned to other front office colleagues during their absence
  8. Communicates regularly with multiple surgical practices
  9. Finalizes medical records in a timely manner
  10. Calls patients to collect outstanding balances
  11. Adheres to all Center policies
  12. Alerts Executive Director and/or Director of Nursing of unusual scheduling and billing events
  13. Responds to Center emergencies
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: Patient Management Systems; Electronic Medical Record
