Job Duties and Responsibilities
This is an entry-level position where you will learn valuable techniques to support children with autism and other developmental disabilities. You will learn advanced caregiving skills such as med administration and crisis prevention. These skills are beneficial across many arenas of life including education and parenting. Paid training provided for those who are interested in advancing.
- Provide therapeutic respite care in the location scheduled in accordance with the policies and requirements of PlayDate as well as the service arrangements spelled out in the service plan.
- Responsibilities may include:
- Engaging in play
- Prompting social interactions
- Assisting with community engagement
- Preparing meals in accordance with dietary restrictions
- Maintain trainings and necessary certifications.
- While ABA principles may be employed during a therapeutic respite session, the sessions should not include programs, as the primary focus of respite is to provide a safe, appropriate, play-oriented environment for our clients.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Reliable Transportation
- Childcare experience, preferred but not required
- CPR/First Aid obtained prior to start
- Successful background check
