As a Retail Associate, you’re part of it all: supporting cat parents, guiding product choices, and even playing a role in connecting adoptable cats with their forever homes.
Pay Range: $21+ / hour. Based on experience.

What You’ll Do
· Create a warm, welcoming experience for every client and visitor
· Help customers choose the right diets, products, and supplies for their cats
· Educate pet owners on nutrition, wellness, and everyday care
· Support and promote our in-store adoption program
· Keep the retail area clean, organized, and inviting
· Manage inventory, ordering, restocking, and merchandising
· Process transactions accurately and efficiently
· Continuously learn so you can confidently guide and support customers

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Continuously update and enhance product knowledge to provide informed recommendations.
- Learn about the nutritional information of various cat food diets and be able to assist customers with dietary recommendations.
- Respond to customer inquiries about products, purchase history, and store offerings with clear and accurate information.
- Identify customer needs and direct them to appropriate products, offering guidance and assistance as needed.
- Recommend additional products when appropriate, upselling items that complement their purchases.
- Maintain organized store displays, ensuring shelves are stocked and products are properly arranged at all times.
- Regularly create and update a list of out-of-stock inventory items to ensure timely restocking.
- Learn and follow opening and closing procedures to maintain store operations efficiently.
- Perform regular cleaning tasks, including wiping down counters, dusting, sweeping, and mopping to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
- Complete daily task lists to ensure the store’s smooth operation.
- Handle all financial transactions, including cash and card payments, with accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create positive and lasting customer experiences.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers effectively.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to keep track of store inventory and ensure displays are organized and stocked.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic retail operations, including financial transactions and cash handling.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve store goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism and care.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills, including knowledge about products and store procedures.
- Prior retail experience is preferred, but not required.
