The Sanitation Manager is responsible for monitoring and ensuring proper sanitation throughout the facility as well as recommending improvements in manufacturing methods and sanitation practices to management. This position oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the sanitation programs and SSOPS to meet company standards, Federal, State and local regulatory requirements. This position requires the Sanitation Manager to work depending on production and sanitation requirements. Off shifts and weekends may be required to ensure all sanitation standards are met.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Must have the ability to stand a minimum of 6 hours without a break and a maximum of 12 hours with a break. There are NO sitting positions or jobs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently per departmental needs.
- Must be able to wear/utilize personal protective equipment.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders and traverse walkways.
- Maintain sanitation employee’s attendance records.
- Enforces the Company’s Sanitation and Food Safety policies and procedures.
- Reports to Director of Sanitation
- Implements training plans for all Sanitation team members.
- Develop, review, update, implement, and maintain the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
- Implement, and maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Mentor and Grow Sanitation Supervisors, and team members.
- Train all Sanitation staff to correctly use of the sanitation chemicals Inc. concentration of the chemicals (All staff to be trained annually on chemical usage and sanitation)
- Keep an inventory of all sanitation chemicals and order them as necessary.
- Carry out daily GMP inspection of the facility after the sanitation is completed and write out any work orders or corrective action observed during the inspection.
- Review and report monthly wastewater reporting completed by Sanitation Manager (Marion Bakery Only) and email completed report to the city of Marion on or before the 15th of each month.
- Carry out any non- standard duties as assigned by his/her manager.
- Participates in regular meetings with all levels of plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements.
- Follows up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested work.
- Prepare, train, and supervise sanitation employees on proper sanitation and sanitizing.
- Ensure cleaning tasks are competed adequately and on time.
- Supervise the execution of the sanitation program and ensure adherence to all company and regulatory policies for food-safety, health & safety, and environmental programs.
- Supervise sanitation personnel, train on sanitation procedures, and ensure effectiveness of cleaning.
- Administer progressive discipline per the company policy
- Maintain planned staffing levels for your shift by participating in interviews and hiring of Sanitation team members.
- Organize and coordinate cleaning activities for the equipment and facility that occurs daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually
- Direct team activities to ensure that cleaning functions are appropriately timed with Operational activities, and ensure that cleaning activities occur on time as per the Sanitation Schedule
- Participate in self-assessments and checks to verify effectiveness of cleaning, and provide records and documentation
- For sanitation problems and concerns, conduct all necessary root-cause analysis allowing for corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Assist with audits regarding sanitation and chemical use issues
- Ensure the proper use of all Sanitation equipment

Qualifications
- A minimum 3 years of Food Manufacturing Sanitation Leadership experience is required and or a strong knowledge of industry’s best practices for food safety, and sanitation.
- Minimum of (3) years working in sanitation in the food industry or prior supervisory experience.
- Computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, and Email) required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to speak, read and write in English allowing the position to develop and write SSOPs and perform training with team.
- Bi-lingual not required but preferred.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, CIP, and other various sanitation methods
- Strong management skills with experience supporting and motivating a team
- Excellent time management skills
