Since 1987, the team at Cafe Valley has produced muffins, bundt cakes, ring cakes, loaf cakes, danishes, turnovers, croissants, and our signature Cafe Bites for our customers throughout the United States and across the world. Who You Are
The Sanitation Supervisor supports Café Valley’s Marion plant by providing all activities involving maintaining the cleanliness and food-safe environment of the production plan, surrounding area, and equipment. Coordinates, motivates, and develops Sanitation team members to achieve outstanding results.

The hours for this position are 6:00am – 6:00pm for 1st shift.  This position is located in Grant County. (Marion, IN)

  • Lead by example by performing cleaning in accordance with established guidelines and specifications, and ensures equipment is operational for production runs
  • Perform and oversee sanitation of all production lines and surrounding areas
  • Supervise team members, train on sanitation procedures, and ensure effectiveness of cleaning ensuring tasks are completed adequately and on time
  • Organize and coordinate cleaning activities for the equipment and facility that occurs daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually
  • Create Master Sanitation Schedules for plant and warehouse interior and exterior facilities; ensure superior sanitation of plant, equipment, and surrounding areas at all times
  • Follow up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested work
  • Manage the inventory and purchasing of sanitation supplies
  • Plan, manage, and direct plant sanitation procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production
  • Supervise the execution of the sanitation program and ensure adherence to all company and regulatory policies for food-safety, health & safety, and environmental programs
  • Perform all related duties as required; related duties are may not be specifically listed in the Position Description but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s classification of work
  • Ability to work with or around food allergens of all types
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years working in sanitation in the food industry OR a minimum of 5 years prior lead/supervisory experience
  • Computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Knowledge of NSS, HACCP, GMPs, CIP, and other various sanitation methods, preferred
  • Ability to work extended shifts (holiday, weekend and/or extended) as business need requires
  • Ability to stand and move through plant throughout entire shift and lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in cold/ humid or hot/ dusty environments as needed
