Duties

  • Maintain accurate up-to-date scheduling log
  • Support billing and medical records teams
  • Assist with collection and verification of LOPs
  • Handle incoming calls while coordinating and scheduling appointments
  • Prepares and reviews patient referrals for next-day appointments to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate

Skill and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of scheduling or front office experience in an imaging center or office-related setting
  • Familiarity with Letters of Protection, Proficiency with office technology
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Schedule patient appointments accurately across multiple EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and others to maximize provider efficiency.
  • Confirm patient insurance coverage through verification processes including insurance verification and Medicare eligibility checks.
  • Review and update medical records, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to manage care plans and ensure timely follow-up appointments.
  • Handle inbound calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and rescheduling appointments as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation review of patient charts, billing information, and coding details such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 codes for accurate billing and record keeping.
  • Support front desk operations by managing multi-line phone systems, filing medical records, and assisting with general clerical tasks like data entry and typing.
  • Assist with insurance claims processing, billing inquiries, and collection efforts related to medical billing activities.
  • Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite to generate reports, update schedules, and manage office correspondence efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards during all aspects of patient information handling and documentation review.
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with phone etiquette to create a welcoming patient experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with health information management practices including medical records filing and office management procedures.

Pay: starting at $17 per hour
