The Senior Accountant works closely with the Assistant Controller in preparing financial reports, variance analysis, offering expertise as necessary to report results, meet filing requirements, implement financial controls, and interpret statements to guide managers to resolve issues and improve the business.

Pay:  $80,000 – $100,000 Annually
Shift: Full-Time, 1st shift

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP and external reporting requirements.
  • Support year-end audit and the preparation of internal management reporting.
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of Budgets & Forecasts
  • Prepare and analyze budget variances analysis.
  • Work with business partners to help them understand their financials and provide relevant management reporting to these partners
  • Oversee the regional general ledger and related accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
  • Maintain lease and fixed asset reporting
  • Oversee accounts payable including 1 direct report and ensure appropriate internal controls are established and followed
  • Reconcile accounts as required for monthly or annual closing; promptly research and appropriately resolve any discrepancies/issues identified in this process.
  • Evaluating policies and procedures to ensure they are accurate and updated
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current accounting pronouncements, GAAP and other compliance issues.
  • Lead and support ad hoc special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of accounting practices, particularly as it relates to ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls; financial knowledge and understanding of key financial measures and accounting methods.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, detail oriented.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete projects independently within established timeframes.
  • Ability to summarize financial information and communicate it effectively to non-financial business partners.
