Scope of the role
Based in Westwin’s headquarters office in OKC, and reporting to the CEO, the Construction Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing the development of our $1.5 billion construction project to establish the first major nickel, cobalt, and manganese refinery in the US.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing informed input and consultation to the design process with efficiency/constructability in mind.
• Establishing and tracking construction schedules and budgets.
• Managing procurement of equipment and materials for construction.
• Selecting, negotiating with, and managing contractors and subcontractors.
• Overseeing the entire construction process from planning to completion.
• Ensuring a safe work environment for the construction projects.
• Implementing best practices in construction management.
• Building and managing the construction team.
• Collaborating with the C-Suite to support project success.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the construction of large industrial facilities.
- They should have led projects worth at least $300 million and ideally managed multi-year construction programs exceeding $1 billion.
- Advanced construction management skills are required with extensive experience with and understanding of the various construction trades involved.
- An extensive network of vendors and suppliers of equipment and materials is preferred.
- A relevant engineering degree is preferred.
