Job description
The Senior Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing best practice speech language therapy services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) through assessment and intervention, and providing treatment and consultation services to develop and facilitate active, natural learning using evidence-based treatment methods. The Senior Speech Language Therapist serves as a supervisor to all Speech Language Pathologists and Clinical Fellows by providing on-going training, coaching and supervision to ensure effective and successful service delivery in compliance with regulatory board standards.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluation and Treatment
Conduct speech therapy screenings and evaluations
Conduct speech therapy sessions
Conduct groups sessions
Write evaluation reports, ITPs, progress reports, and sessions notes as required
Consult with other professional across disciplines
Complete other duties as assigned.
Clinical Supervision and Mentorship
Supervised Licensed Speech Language Pathologists and providers clinical supervision to include in person supervision of client sessions and regular supervision meetings.
Trains and support Speech Therapists in conducting evaluations, identifying, and developing client acquisition goals, daily treatment notes, daily data input analysis and other documentation as needed within required time frame.
Supervise and train Clinical Fellows, to include in person supervision of client sessions and regular supervision meetings, in accordance with national board standards.
Responsible for ensuring all direct therapists establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, care providers and school personnel, always projecting a positive company image.
Provide coverage therapy sessions and carry a small caseload to maintain best practice standards.
Qualifications
Required
Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences, Speech & Language Pathology, or related field
Functional understanding of alternative communication methods
Active state license in good standing
At least 2 years experience working directly with children with autism or other developmental disability.
Minimum 3 years experience as a licensed speech and language therapist.
