Job Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include the diagnosis and repair on air, battery, and electric-powered tools such as but not exclusive to drills, nail guns, strapping tools and/or equipment, and compressors. The Technician reads and understands technical manuals, can disassemble and reassemble tools and use testing devices, such as ampmeters and voltmeters, to identify problems. As a Road Service Repair technician, you would be traveling to select customer locations to repair tools on-site. A vehicle is provided for this task and all related expenses are paid.
Other duties include:
- Use technical abilities to assure accurate and complete repairs
- Collaborate with colleagues where necessary to improve the overall performance of the Service and Repair Center
- Use interpersonal skills to successfully deal with customer complaints or issues
- Assist in maintaining departmental equipment and/or supplies by notifying the Service and Repair Manager of any needs
- Be a team player and keep high morale
- Keep on task
- Timely communication to field reps, the inside reps, the store staff, and customers with regard to availability and delivery of parts and/or repairs
- Provide accurate and timely quotes or estimates
- Create in house assemblies for hoses
- Notify the Service and Repair Manager of any change in prices on parts or other items
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory by notifying the Service and Repair Manager of any discrepancies
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the department
- Use of the internal ERP software to create estimates, quotes, and sales orders and for inventory control
- Any other duties assigned or that will benefit the overall efficiency of the company
Qualifications
- Love working with your hands
- Have experience working on electric plug-in and battery-operated equipment
- Possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record
- You are reliable, organized, detailed and focused
- Be able to move up to 100 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Enjoy being part of a fantastic team
- While previous tool repair knowledge is desirable, we are willing to train any individual who is mechanically inclined and has a desire to learn to repair tools, compressors, and related equipment used in the construction, manufacturing, and industrial markets
