We are seeking a motivated individual to join our RI – Richmond site’s Technical Engineering team based in Richmond, IN. The ideal candidate for the Technical Process Engineer will be results driven, motivated by technical challenges; they will use their excellent interpersonal communication, organization, as demonstrated analytical problem solving skills provide project management and technical support for capital projects. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Technical Process Engineer will be reportable to the Technical Manager and have responsibilities for the following tasks: 

  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations groups
  • Provide project management and technical support for capital projects
  • Serve on/ or lead teams responsible for long-term process improvement planning and cost savings and/or reliability projects. 
  • Interact with support groups to develop start-up and shut-down procedures: as well as improve current operational procedures & Standard Operating Conditions. 
  • Participate and lead in design, installation, startup and operation of a variety of chemical process equipment. 
  • Lead management of the Process and Product Test Request System
  • Serve as owner for the performance of critical pieces of equipment, always ensuring quality and productivity
  • Provide daily auditing of compliance to SOCs and SOPs as well as operational training as needed and requested
  • Audit and track line performance in Quality, Productivity, and Yield
  • Report on alignment to internal and external performance reporting requirements

Qualifications

Required  

  • Bachelors in Engineering. Chemical and Mechanical are preferred
  • Willing to relocate within the US Alpek Manufacturing Network for broad skills development on 1-2 year assignment
  • Able to read, understand and update P&ID’s
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and to innovate. 
  • Ability to successfully work independently and/or as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Strong communication/interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Detailed oriented. 
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project etc.) 

 
Preferred 

  • Project Management, SAP, PI and DCS experience a plus
