Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, verbal cueing, hands on assist and reminders during ADL’s
- Serve meals and assist with dining services
- Supervise dining room during meals
- Assist with clean-up after meals
- Provide room care: laundry, making beds, empty garbage, clean bathrooms, stock supplies
- Maintain safe and secure environment
- Answer emergency call system
- Report and record changes in tenant condition and needs on Staffing Note or to Facility Nurse
- Encourage tenant to remain as independent as possible
- Clean and maintain personal hygiene equipment
- Assist with ambulation, moving and transporting tenants including pushing wheelchairs
- Participate in education and in-service opportunities
- Accompany tenants on outings
- Complete tenant safety/status checks
- Encourage tenant’s participation in socialization and activities
- Perform tasks as assigned in individual service plans
- Take vital signs as necessary
- Follow facility policies and procedures
- Orientation of new tenants to suite/community areas
- Orientation of new Ra’s, C.N.A.’S, Housekeeping, and Dietary
- Answer incoming calls
- Greet guests and provide tours
- May be required to work mandatory overtime
Qualifications
- Able to speak and write English well
- Able to work independently
- Demonstrate freedom from communicable diseases/Tuberculosis
- Cleared record according to Illinois Abuse Registry
- Cleared record according to Illinois State Background Check
- Provide physical examination signed by physician
- Provide proof of Certification in Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Must have the current federally required vaccines or proof of a valid exemption.
