Job Duties and Responsibilities

Our Veterinary Technicians do it all! You will be responsible for the following skills:

  • Provide clear and accurate patient records
  • Patient triage and patient care
  • Process all laboratory samples to include hematology and microbiology
  • Perform radiologic procedures
  • Assist with ultrasound-guided specimen collection
  • Assist with oncology treatments
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures
  • Monitor and provide treatment to hospitalized patients
  • Perform dental prophylactic procedures and dental radiographs
  • Receive prescription requests and refill of medications
  • Provide in-depth client education and superior customer service
  • Assist the veterinarian in appointments
  • Proper handling and restraint of patients
  • Complete technician appointments for various procedures to include: anal gland expression, bandaging and wound care, nail trims, venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, suture removal, ear cleaning, and sanitary clipping

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a team player first and foremost. This person will be open to learning and advancing in every skillset required for the position. We are looking for an energetic, detailed, flexible and dependable technician who understands what true teamwork is all about!

The ideal candidate is either working toward obtaining their veterinary technician certificate or is a current registered veterinary technician with the state. Those candidates with less experience and knowledge but have the right personality and willingness to learn will be trained.

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour based on knowledge and experience.
