Position summary: Primarily responsible to provide excellent support to the Shipping and Receiving Manager and excellent customer service to all associates and visitors. The Warehouse Clerk for Café Valley will receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Keep records, compile stock reports, schedule appointments, greet drivers, process all paperwork and provide general administrative support. Previous inventory/cycle counter experience is desired for this position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Consistent and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible schedules as business needs demand.
  • Ability to work with or around food allergens of all types.
  • Must be able to work within a team environment, treat all with respect – no fighting.
  • Must have the ability to stand a minimum of 6 hours without a break and a maximum of 12 hours with a break. There are NO sitting positions or jobs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces. (Spiral, oven area, etc)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs consistently per production needs.
  • Must be able to wear/utilize personal protective equipment.
  • Receive and count items, and record data manually or using a computer.
  • Prioritize order trailers need to be loaded/unloaded while communicating the information to the lift drivers.
  • Input shipping information into EDI and send to customers.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Keep records of the use or damage of stocks or stock-handling equipment.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damages to supervisors.
  • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
  • Manage the day-to-day appointments, drivers, etc.
  • Schedule inbound loads and outbound loads based on available resources.
  • Cycle count daily inventories.
  • Verify accuracy of all outbound loads both in person and via final paperwork review on a daily basis.
  • Order management from the paperwork and tracking perspective.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
  • Record shipment data, such as weights, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
  • Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
  • Contract carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or storing bins.
  • Investigate and resolve issues.
  • Compute amounts, such as space available, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.
  • Billing.
  • Manage resource allocations as directed by warehouse manager.
  • Manage inventories to ensure an accurate inventory in the warehouse.
  • Manage product so that it is correctly moved for inbound PO’s, outbound loads, and warehouse to warehouse transfers.
  • Keep records of the use or damage of stocks or stock-handling equipment.
  • Assist with systems related problems that may occur.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned or as our customers’ needs change.

Qualifications

Qualifications required:

  • Ability to read and write.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

               fractions, and decimals.
Qualifications desired:

  • Ability to input data into an Excel spreadsheet and computer skills (Microsoft, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Use of pallet jacks and pallet transport trucks.
  • Data entry software, machine control software, inventory tracking software, spreadsheet software.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Working knowledge of GMP’s

  • Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without ‘giving out’ or fatiguing.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make senses.
